with a little help from our friends…

During the summer of 2023, Alan worked with faculty and students from Alan’s alma mater, Indiana University of Pennsylvania. These 21st century college students, advised by their faculty member, Dr. Mark Piwinsky, applied their skills to help Alan tell the story of the Weaver’s Perfect Memory. Skilled in film production, photography, and scriptwriting, these talented students created a short video about the invention. This Fall semester, Alan is working with another group of students and Professor BA Harrington, director of the university’s wood center. Much like the Roycrofters did during the Arts and Crafts movement in the early 1900s, Alan and IUP’s art and design students, STEAMshop, and the Allegheny Arboretum have formed a collaborative team and are crafting a limited edition of the Weaver’s Perfect Memory for the university community.
